Elite Hockey Programs

Blackfalds Minor Hockey Association does not currently offer elite stream hockey programs. Each of our teams from U9 - U18 are registered in the Central Alberta Hockey League and compete in tiered house league hockey programs. 

Other associations in our area offer AAA and AA programs. Please see the information below for more information

All players trying out for AA teams must fill out the Notification of Tryout Form from Hockey Alberta. You can find that form here 

AA Hockey Programming - Central Alberta Selects (CAS) > U11 to U18

Blackfalds falls under the catchment boundaries for Central Alberta Selects AA Hockey Program based in Lacombe.

BMHA Members can register for CAS AA Tryouts by using the CAS NON-RESIDENT AA Tryout Registration 2023-2024. That form can be found here

• Tryout fees must be paid in full in order to participate in Tryouts. 
• Please note: you may not try out for AA programs in other cities without approval from Hockey Alberta.

AAA Hockey Programming - Red Deer Minor Hockey Chiefs > U15 & U18

Blackfalds falls under the catchment boundaries for Red Deer Minor Hockey AAA Hockey Program. You may tryout for AAA in Red Deer as well as AA in Lacombe. 

• All non Red Deer residents are required to pay a non refundable tryout fee upon registration.  
• Registration deadline is May 31st.

Sylvan Lake offers a U16AA program and accepts registrations from Blackfalds residents.
